Covid-19 Safety Plan

A word from the Owner, “We understand there are varying levels of concern regarding Covid-19 safety at this year’s Good Living Expo, and we want to assure you that we are doing everything in our power to have a SAFE event. Below, we have outlined the many steps we are taking to ensure a safe event. Please read through each section and contact with questions. We encourage those who feel comfortable to come out to our 2021 Good Living Expo 2/5-2/6. The mental, physical and emotional health of our city is struggling right now, and together with your cooperation, we believe this event can help transform bodies, minds and spirits! We are hopeful that a change in health will help ease the stress and worry that Covid-19 has put on all of us. Additionally, we are so grateful to the businesses who choose to participate in our event in order to be a part of that positive change! As we thoughtfully created our COVID-19 safety plan for the Good Living Expo, we took into consideration the best practices of other events in the area, our previous 2020 event experiences with the Just For Her Event (6/23-25), and Fall Chick Event (10/9-10/10) as well as the county and state recommendations. We want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the Good Living Expo. Below is information that our customers should know before attending.

Even though the latest Johnson County Public Health Order expires 1/31, four days prior to the Good Living Expo date of 2/5, a safety plan drawn up by Event Organizers has been submitted to Johnson County. This plan will ensure every area of risk has been addressed and deemed safe by the county.

In addition to approval by Johnson County Health Officials, the Overland Park Convention Center has announced that it has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities.   • All customers and vendors are required to wear protective masks while in the building.
  • We request that children over 2 wear protective masks.
  • Guests are required to stay home if they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, is currently sick, or is waiting on the results from a Covid test.
  • The event floor plan has been adjusted to ensure a respectful distance of 6ft is available for guests at all times.
  • Attendance will be monitored and entry will be limited to prevent overcrowding.
  • Tickets will not be required at this year’s event in order to respect social distancing guidelines and to avoid contact with ticket takers.
  • There will be no shopping bags this year to avoid close staff interaction to stuff bags and congestion at the entrance.
  • We ask that guests avoid handling merchandise before purchasing, if possible.
  • There will be sanitizing stations throughout the event space. We also encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer when possible.
  • Food & drink will only be consumed in designated areas, ensuring masks are on at all other times throughout the space. In addition, there will be no bar available at this year’s event.
  • We are encouraging vendors to have credit card machines, which most already do. We’re also encouraging them to accept PayPal, Venmo, etc. and encourage customers to use these options when possible.
  • This year’s event map and vendor list will be available online to avoid handling paper materials.

As event planners, we’re dedicated to protecting our vendors, staff and guests. To ensure everyone’s safety as we welcome you to our event, we ask that we make the following promises to one another:


  • All staff will pass a health check prior to each shift.
  • All staff will wear masks when within 6 feet of vendors or customers.
  • Appropriate social distancing guidelines will be noted throughout event.
  • Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations will be available to all vendors, guests and employees throughout the event.
  • Common areas and surfaces will be sanitized regularly.
  • We will adhere to all local and statewide health standards.


You will keep everyone safe by staying home and not entering the event if: 

  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19 recently or have symptoms of COVID-19 (including a fever, cough, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, or shortness of breath) you will keep everyone safe by staying home.
  • If you have tested positive with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
  • If you have travelled internationally within the last 14 days.
  • If you have travelled to an area within the United States with a high incidence rate of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
  • If you have underlying health conditions or are otherwise concerned about contracting COVID-19, please feel free to contact us for further assistance or join us next year!
  • Protective masks will be required for all guests at the 2021 event.
  • You agree to follow the social distancing and sanitary guidelines that have been put in place to protect you and our other guests and employees.
